Japanese Sports Carnival in July!

Hi all!
Just a little update on upcoming event(s)

2 event line ups confirmed at the moment.

1st up,
The Anime & manga sub-comm. has organized a screening on the 14th June 2003.
Title being screened is Naruto, eps 1-8. Look out for more details to come really soon!

next up,
There will be a Japanese Sports Carnival (held annually) this coming July, organized by the Japanese Association. Details are as follows:

Event name: Japanese Association’s Sports Carnival 2003
Date: 20th July 2003(Sunday)
Venue: Clementi Stadium (we’ll meet somewhere 1st before going down together)
Time: 0900 to 1600

Members are encouraged to take time off and join this fun filled event. Not to mention it’ll give u an opportunity to “exercise”, not being able to do so with our busy poly schedule.
Last year, we were able to get CCA points for this event, and we will try to do so this year.

This event is opened to all members, anyone interested can email your name, matric. no. and contact no. to Benjamin @ trowa07@yahoo.co.uk (no spams please).

All emails must reach Ben by Wed. (28th May) midnight(latest).

The Cuisine Sub-comm. has organized a restaurant outing to Nanto Restaurant, located at Liang Court.(in case u’re wondering, yes, its still there.)

Details are as follows:

Event name: Nanto Restaurant outing

Venue: Nanto Restaurant (Liang Court)
Date: 18th June 2003
Time: 1pm. (meeting time and venue to be confirmed later)
Interested members are adviced to bring along about $20(this will be sufficient for your meal and perhaps
a dessert as well.)
Though it may sound expensive, I can assure you, the portions there are pretty generous, just ask our
senior(and above) members, like Shei meng, Su San and Peifen. lol
Anyway, all interested parties are to submit their names, contact no. and matric no. to Su San (current Cuisine Sub-comm. leader) @ susan@vodien.com .

Bon Dance & Tea Ceremony

Hi to all JCG members(& ppl who love Jap cultural), like to inform u that there’ll be an event which will be organised by Arts & Entertainment Sub Comm in the coming year 03/04.

Event: Bon Dance & Tes ceremony
Venue: Japanese Association
Time: 12th July 2003 (Saturday)

You will get to learn the bon dance and also understand the tea ceremony history and procedure etc.

Further notice concerning the event will also be post up.

So do participate in this event and you’ll be rewarded with CCA points. Not only that, you will get to understand more of Japanese cultural. So dun miss this opportunity.

Nanto Family Restaurant

There will be a Jap Restaurant Trip on 18 June 2003… It will be at Nanto Family Restaurant. Its located at Liang Court Basement.

Interested parties, pls send ya contact details such as ur name, matriz, email addr & HP no to susan@vodien.com

Each person will have to foot their own bills. We will hold no responsibility in the payment of the bills.

A suggested amount of money to bring for this trip will be around S$20. This amount should be able to provide each person a main dish & a dessert. Bring along more cash if needed.

Sukiyaki Feast

HI Guys N Gals,

There will be a SukiYaki Feast open to the JCG members on 30May2003 (Fri) at 1pm and this will be held in our dear President House. Each person will be required to pay S$15.

Naruto Screening

Hi everyone!! n_n

There is gonna be an anime screening this June.

Anime Title: Naruto Episode 1-8

Date: 14 June

Venue: LT 16 (It is located at ITAS Lv 1. First LT to the left from the lift)

Time: 11.30am-3pm (There is a 30 minute break. All 8 episodes will take 3 hours.)

Price$$$: It is free

So please come and watch the anime.
