Japanese Association Open House 2005

Hi guys,

We will be organizing a visit to the Japanese Association for their Open House next Saturday.

There will be various events including Japanese picture story show, tea ceremony, ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), origami, folk dance, taiko, Japanese traditional games as well as popular Japanese food such as sushi, zenzai, yaki-soba, okonomiyaki and ramen. Also held would be the 2nd JAS Karaoke Contest (NHK Cup) and a charity bazaar*.

*Queue numbers for entry will be given out from 10am near Level 2 Atrium. Free entry after 12.30pm.

Through our Japanese senseis, we are able to help those interested get $10 worth of coupons to start them off for free, so do indicate your interest as this is while stocks last!

11am to goods sold out (charity bazaar)
4pm to 6pm (JAS Karaoke Contest)

How do you get there?
There will be a shuttle bus service available at 15 minutes interval. Pick up bus stops are outside Isetan Scotts and Newton MRT.

Alternatively,
1) Take a train to Toa Payoh MRT station.
2) Take bus 157 from the bus interchange.
3) About 15 stops later, the bus will go on a flyover above the Pan-Island Expressway. Immediately after the flyover, on your left is a large building complex which is the Japanese Association. Alight immediately after this flyover.

We would most probably organize a meetup for those who are clueless on how to get there. More information on this would be given later.

Interclub Screening 2005

Hi guys,

TPJCG will be organizing its 3rd interclub event this month. Come watch Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Last Order: Final Fantasy VII on the big screen with us.

We will be inviting other Japanese culture clubs to TP campus to get to know each other. This is also a great chance to know fellow Japanese culture enthusiasts from other clubs and schools.

A tea reception will also be provided.

All JCG members are welcome to join this event for free. However, we only have a limited number of seats so it’s first come first served!
