Hi all,
We’re having a screening on the 22nd of July. We’ll be showing Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala (劇場版 鋼の錬金術師 シャンバラを征く者 (Gekijyouban Hagane no Renkinjutsushi - Shanbara wo Yuku Mono)), followed by requests and recommended anime by our members.
The Fullmetal Alchemist movie takes place after the end of the anime series. It takes place in Munich, Germany, 1923, of our world. Two years have passed since Edward Elric was dragged from his world to ours, leaving behind his country, his friends and his younger brother, Alphonse Elric. Stripped of his alchemical powers ever since he got here, he had been researching rocketry together with Alphonse Heiderich, a young man bearing resemblance to his own brother. Edward’s efforts to find a way back home to his family and friends so far had proven fruitless. However, when he hears that the Thule Society (an occultistic organization strongly tied to the Nazi Party) had discovered what could be a clue to the location of the legendary, mystical place called “Shambala”, Edward’s hopes get renewed.
Meanwhile, back in his own world, Alphonse Elric ventures deeper into the mysteries of alchemy in search for a way to reunite with his older brother…
We will also be screening the first episodes of:
Eyeshield 21
Juuousei
Tantei Gakuen Q
Monster
If you would like to request anything, please go here.
We hope to see you there, so join us!

Date: Saturday, 26 August 2006
Time: 6pm to 10pm
Venue: Japanese Primary School Clementi Campus

We are currently accepting pre-orders for tickets (priced at $10 each) as further details have not been confirmed. If you are interested, please email Weiting at weiting@tpjcg.org with your name, matric no and contact number.
All tickets pre-ordered have to be allocated to a Temasek Polytechnic student, so please include the name and matric nos of your friends if you wish to purchase more than one ticket. Priority will be given to JCG members.
Help out for the event!
This year, the JAS is looking forward to recruit about 40 volunteers from Temasek Polytechnic.
These volunteers will assist in post-event clearing from about 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm on that day. The duties include clearing of tables and chairs as well as ensuring that the event venue is cleared of any rubbish.
For your help, the JAS will provide S$10 coupons, drinks and official T-shirts to all the volunteers.
If you are interested, please email Weiting at weiting@tpjcg.org with your name, matric no, contact number, school and year of study by 5 July 2006.
This is exclusively for JCG members only on a first-come-first-served basis.
From the 10th of July 2006, we’ll be organizing weekly drawing sessions for anyone who is interested in drawing in the style of Japanese animation! This is a relaxed get-together for artists of any level, meant to give interested parties an opportunity to come together, draw, share tips, make friends and basically have fun.
Day: Mondays (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st of July 2006)
Time: 6pm to 7pm
Venue: 5-6-12 (Applied Science)
Admission to drawing sessions is free for all members of JCG (please remember to bring your membership card). Non-members will have to pay 50 cents.
