We’ll be screening the first 10 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club (桜蘭高校ホスト部) on the 9th of September!
About Ouran High School Host Club:
Fujioka Haruhi is a bespectacled, short-haired and boyish-looking student at Ouran High school, which is an exclusive institution attended by prestigious and wealthy students. Coming from a lower-middle class family, she is only able to attend that school because of a scholarship. One day, while looking for a quiet place to study, she stumbles across the 3rd music room and discovers the Host Club, which made up of 6 rich and good-looking guys who, by making use of their charms, entertain girls at a price. They mistaken Haruhi for a boy, and as she tries to back out of the room, she accidentally knocks over an 8 million yen vase. Obviously unable to pay for it, Haruhi is forced to stay and do odd jobs for the Host Club. However, when the Host Club discovers that she is surprisingly attractive behind her glasses, and has a natural charm that appeals to their customers…
Ouran High School Host Club is an entertaining romantic comedy that is definitely worth watching, or even re-watching. Come join us!

The 16th Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Festival, or Seiransai, is here!
Held annually, students participate by organising activities such as tea ceremonies, festival games and band performances. There is even an opportunity for you to take your photo while dressed up in a Japanese high school uniform!

We’ll be holding our (possibly) first eating competition on 19 August 2006.
Participants will be given 33 onigiris to be eaten, the fastest to complete all 33 or completed the most of the 33 and if all other participants cannot continue, will win.
There will be 3 flavours and 10 of each flavour and 3 ’special’ onigiris. Muahaha.
Prizes will be up for grabs and only a limited amount of people will be allowed in the competition.

Hi all,
We’re still having our weekly drawing sessions for the month of August! Anyone who is interested in drawing in the style of Japanese animation is welcome. This is a relaxed get-together for artists of any level, meant to give interested parties an opportunity to come together, draw, share tips, make friends and basically have fun.

Due to exams being held in classroom 5-6-12, the location for drawing sessions this month has been changed to 5-5-24. We apologize for all inconvenience caused!
Day: Mondays (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of August 2006)
Time: 6pm to 7pm

Admission to drawing sessions is free for all members of JCG (please remember to bring your membership card). Non-members will have to pay 50 cents.
