Japanese Traditions Concert

Hi all,

There will be a Japanese Traditions concert held at the Victoria Concert Hall, featuring Taisho-koto in the Kinden-ryu style. Taisho Koto is an evolution of the traditional koto (a thirteen-stringed musical instrument.) It was invented in the first year of Taisho (1911), hence its name.

Some of the songs that will be performed at the concert include:

  • Soran Bushi (ソーラン節)
  • Fusetsu Nagare Tabi (風雪流れ旅)
  • Tsugaru Kaikyo Fuyugeshiki (津軽海峡冬景色)
  • Tango at Night (夜のタンゴ)
  • Sakura Bukyoku (桜吹雪)
  • Nada So So (涙そうそう)

Date: Thursday, 23 November 2006
Time: 7.30pm
