Natsu Matsuri 2007

It’s Natsu Matsuri time again! This much-anticipated event organized annually by the Japanese Association, Singapore consists of food and game stalls and mass folk dancing of the Bon Odori at one of the biggest annual events held by the JAS. This year, the event will be once again held in the Changi campus.

Date: Saturday, 25 August 2007
Time: 6pm to 10pm
Venue: Japanese Primary School Changi Campus
Admission: $10 per person (comes with main dish and 12 coupons)

No SEAL points will be given for participation in this event.

Thanks to our teacher advisor, the deadline for emailing in has been extended to Monday, 30 July 2007.

We are taking orders for the tickets for a limited period only! Each JCG member is entitled to purchase up to two tickets.

Korokke Making Session

Hi all!

Fluffy and crispy, Japanese croquettes, better known as korokkes, are often seen at places like Korokke-chan or Japanese restaurants. These Japanese potato patties are very popular for snacks or a light lunch! Often served with tonkatsu sauce, korokkes taste good on their own as well. Wish to make your own? We’re going to teach you how!

Origami (Paper Craft) Learning Session

Unsure of how to use your leftover paper for better purposes? Or do you just want to use the nice origami paper you have better? Come down and learn from us some of the useful things you can do with all those paper! Learn how to fold fancy paper vases, plates and bags!

Cosfest VI Outing

Once again, Cosfest is coming! This is an annual cosplay event, where people can dress up in their favourite costumes and mingle with other fellow hobbyists.

At the event, there will be cosplay competitions, an anime karaoke performance and contest, and numerous booths selling a range of anime, manga and other Japanese-related merchandise.

Drawing Sessions (July)

Hi all,

We’ve been at our drawing sessions for almost a year already! Anyone who is interested in drawing in the style of Japanese animation is welcome. This is a relaxed get-together for artists of any level, giving anyone an opportunity to come together, draw, share tips, make friends, chill out and have fun.
