A combination of a French and English word? Eggs? Rice!
Greetings, everyone!
For the month of March, we grace our spotlight on the well-known dish, omu-raisu! Omu-raisu basically means “omelette and rice”, a product from the French word “omelette” and English word “rice”. This popular dish was invented in Japan and is now commonly found at western style diners and izayaka restaurants in Japan.
This dish consists of seasoned pan-fried rice with ketchup and wrapped in a thin sheet of fried egg. The ingredients used to flavour the rice varies, and sometimes the rice may even be replaced with yakisoba (fried noodles) to make omu-soba instead!
Sound fascinating?
Don’t miss this opportunity! Join us for our omu-raisu making session! We will teach and guide you along the way towards making this wonderful dish.
