Sub-committee 2009 Application

Hi all!

If you’re interested in having a hand in planning and organising events for your fellow members, want to make closer friendships through shared experiences, or just want to be more involved in the club, our sub-committees want you!

You can apply to our Anime/Manga sub-committee, which is tasked with organising anime, manga, games and cosplay-related events, and our very popular weekly drawing sessions. Or check out our Arts & Entertainment sub-committee, which handles all Japanese popular entertainment and traditional arts events, such as dance sessions, papercraft sessions, and J-pop concert screenings. If you’re interested in learning how to make Japanese cuisine, or have an extremely keen interest in sharing your favourite Japanese restaurants with others, then perhaps our Cuisine sub-committee is for you?

Please email comm@tpjcg.org (subject: Sub-committee 2009 Application) with the following details: name, matric number, course, school, year of study, contact number, forum username, and which subcomm(s) you are interested in, by the night of Wednesday, 20 May 2009. If you do not have a forum account, please register at our forums. You may apply for multiple subcomms, but if we have an overwhelming number of applications, those with fewer choices may be given priority.

Even if you have signed at our Annual General Meeting/Orientation last week, please email in again so that we can double-confirm your application!

This is one of your best chances to make your mark, contribute and be more involved in Japanese Cultural Group, so apply for our sub-committees now!

Yokoso!! JCG Forum Contest

Hi all!

Orientation was a blast, and we’re sure some of you are dying to get to know more people from outside your orientation groups! To promote the spirit of making friends and getting to know others further, we’re having a contest on the forums.

To get started, register on our forums and create a new topic introducing yourself in our New Members forum. It’s important to make a good first impression, so be as creative as possible! You’ll also score bonus points by actively participating in your own, as well as other members’ welcome topics, so do reply to posts in your topic, say hello to others, and feel free to ask them questions you’ve been burning to ask.

The top 3 most constructive and creative members will each win a $10 Kinokuniya voucher!

The contest includes all posts made from Friday, 15 May 2009 to Friday, 12 June 2009. All JCG members who have signed up or renewed for this academic year are eligible to participate.

What are you waiting for? Chill out with us on our forums today!
