Mr Curry Restaurant Outing

Hi all!

We’re having an outing for all members to get together and enjoy special, unique or just delicious Japanese cuisine. Members can also make new friends and catch up with one another.

This month, we’re having Japanese curry rice – a non-spicy variation of curry often served with vegetables such as onions, carrots and potatoes. Mr Curry is a spinoff of Waraku, a chain of popular Japanese family restaurants in Singapore since 2000.

Date: Friday, 3 July 2009
Time: 6.30pm to late
Venue: Mr Curry, Central Mall (meeting at Clarke Quay MRT control station)
Budget: $15 (most main courses)

There’s a discount of 20% going on at the moment, which makes a visit to Mr Curry even more affordable! Also, a copy of Mr Curry’s menu is available online.

Japan Fair Outing

Hey all,

We’re organising a rather impromptu outing to the Japan Fair! It’s an event promoting trips to Japan, and Japanese products such as food, drinks, collectables and mangas!

Date: Friday, 26 June 2009
Time: 6pm till late
Venue: Galleria Foyer, Suntec City

Anime Dance Trial

Hey people!

If you’ve ever watched The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and wondered how to dance the moves for the closing animation, then our upcoming Anime Dance Sessions are for you! We’re hosting a dance trial first to iron out the quirks of teaching the various dances found in anime, and you’re welcome to take part in it!

SHINE Youth Mascot Parade

Hi all!

As part of the SHINE Youth Festival, a part of Orchard Road will be transformed and showcase a large variety of movie, anime, game and cultural mascots, with activities like a cosplay competition, lolita fashion show, costume party and J-Rock concert performance.

The organisers of the SHINE Youth Mascot Parade are looking for volunteers for the event in the following roles:
- Cosplayers (wearing your own costumes)
- Mascots (costumes will be supplied – the list of costumes can be
found here)
- Event Marshals (to help form a human barricade for the parade)
- Photographers/Videographers (providing photo and video coverage of the event; good cameras aren’t required!)
- Helpers (to help make the parade a success)

Date: Saturday, 27 June 2009
Time: 1pm to 10pm
Venue: Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza
Admission: Free

Volunteers for the parade who register before the deadline will receive a host of benefits, including T-shirts, premiums, insurance coverage and a certificate of participation. SEAL points will also be awarded! There’s a briefing for all helpers on Saturday, 20 June 2009, 2pm at the *SCAPE Lab (near Cathay Cineleisure), so please keep that day free.

Dance Subaru Movie Outing

We’re organising an outing to watch the movie Dance Subaru! This is a motivating tale about the self-realisation of a young ballerina under adversity. So if you want to watch this movie, just hang out with fellow members or even drag your friends along, this is a great opportunity to do so!
