Japanese Drums and Dance Performance‏

Hey everyone,

Are you interested to learn more about Japanese traditional music? Or considering spending a culturally-enriching Sunday afternoon with Japanese drums?

Originating from ancient times as a form of communication, traditional Japanese drums, Taiko, have become closely associated with Japanese festivals and in present day, its dynamic rhythm is still being used to celebrate openings and grand occasions. The drum ensembles have also evolved from just drums to include a wide variety of Japanese instruments.

In conjunction with the annual Japanese Cultural Festival, the Japanese Cultural Society Singapore is presenting a public performance of Japanese Drums and Dance at the Victoria Theatre this month.
