JAS Open House and Charity Bazaar 2009!

The Japanese Association, Singapore is having an open house! For those of you who have not been there, here’s a good chance!

There will be various events including Japanese food, Japanese picture story show, traditional Japanese games, mini 4WD car race, origami workshop, batik workshop and Yukata wearing conner. Also held would be the JAS Karaoke Contest (NHK Cup) and a charity bazaar*.

*Queue numbers for entry will be given out from 10am near Level 2 Atrium. Free entry after 12.30pm.

Date: Saturday, 21 November 2009
Time: 11am~ while stocks last (Charity Bazaar); 4pm to 6pm (JAS Karaoke Contest)

Admission: S$10

There will be shuttle bus services available at 15 minutes interval at the bus stop outside ISETAN Scotts & Newton MRT. Tickets ($1 each) are available for purchase at JAS Clubshop & ISETAN Scotts Customer Serivce Counter (4F). Cash will NOT be accepted.

BANZAI!! Bazaar ‘09

In support of Global Community Week, we are having our very own bazaar to show TP students some Japanese culture! You can check out the cosplay, buy some anime merchandise, play some traditional games, or taste some authentic Japanese sweets and drinks. We’ll also be selling plenty of second hand goods by our very own members!

Trick Or Treat?

How have you been spending your Halloween for the past few years? Always wanted to go to a haunted house? How about chilling out and mingling with mental patients while feasting on a gruesome meal? Or just watch some horror movies with your group of friends?

We’re pleased to introduce our very own Trick Or Treat! This is one of the most anticipated events of the year where the word ‘scare’ is redefined, TPJCG style. This time, we are bringing a Haunted House, an Insane Asylum and a Horror Marathon to you! Test your courage in the Haunted House, be served a ghoulish treat by psycho patients at the Insane Asylum or test your endurance in our Horror Marathon.

So come down and join in the scaremongering trail with us!

Wafu Pasta Making Session

Buon Giorno Eveyone!

Have you ever seen “Wafu Pasta” mentioned at any restaurants or even newspaper articles? Does “Wafu Pasta” sound familiar? Having a hard time remembering the dish name or crave to learn more about the dish?

Well fret not! For the month of October, we are organising a “Wafu Pasta” Making session! That’s right, we are bringing you the latest and most modern dish currently found in Japan!

This dish, which has a fusion of both the traditional Italian Pasta and the traditional Japanese “zen” sauce would make any curious diner dare to try this newly founded dish! After attending our session, the strange and unfamiliar dish name would no longer be a mystery to your food collection.

Learn this new dish to awe your friends with this modern dish which few have dared to try and succeed. During the session you’ll get up close with our experienced members and learn how to make this wonderful fusion of Japanese and Western which will tickle your taste buds with easy and simple to learn steps!

Japanese Cultural Night 2009 – Seasons

Always interested in Japanese culture but never had the chance to experience it first hand?

Here’s your chance to do so in the first ever Japanese Cultural Night showcasing the major elements of Japanese Culture, including Nihon Buyo (Japanese dance), Sado (Japanese tea ceremony), Koto (Japanese musical instrument) and Taiko (Japanese drums).
