Student Exchange with Kobe Gakuin University

Updates!
Registration is closed. Thank you for your prompt response.

Hey all

Next year in early March, 11 students from Kobe Gakuin University will be coming to Singapore for 3 days to do a project on Singapore’s Racial Harmony.

We have been tasked to help these students in their project. Basically, we have to do correspondence in Facebook with them and probably bring them to some of Singapore sites to show them the different races and cultures in Singapore. This would be a good opportunity for you to experience Singapore Cultures, exchange cultural facts with the Japanese or make new Japanese friends!

Registration is on first-come-first-served basis. So hurry up and register with your friends! (Groups of 3 preferred!)

If you’re interested, please email Kubo-sensei at kuboy@tp.edu.sg with your full name, matric number, school, year of study, and contact number by 22nd December 2009.

SEAL points will be awarded for participation.

Hi all

It’s almost the new year, and Chingay 2010 is around the corner! Every year, the Japanese Association, Singapore (JAS) performs the bon-dance, a traditional Japanese folk dance and have invited us to join them in this annual event.

Practice sessions will be held on the following dates:

From: 9 January 2010 to 11 February 2010
Every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm at JAS Studio 1
Every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm at JAS Ballroom

Parade rehearsals will be held on the following dates:

Full Dress Rehearsal: 6 February 2010 from 2pm to late
Rehearsal: 18 February 2010 from 3pm to late
Parade Pre-view: 19 February 2010 from 3pm to late
Parade: 20 February 2010 from 2pm to late

All dates are compulsory to take part in the Parade. This requires a lot of commitment, but if you’re free and take an interest in traditional Japanese culture, do take this oppurtunity to join in the festivities as chances like these come only once a year!
