California Roll/Tamagoyaki Making Session

Maki-sushi? Tamagoyaki?

Minna-san, konnichiwa!

It’s already April! We’re back again with more of your favourite Japanese cuisine! This time, we present one of the most well-known dish commonly associated with the Japanese, which is the sushi roll, otherwise known as maki-zushi, and we’ll be demonstrating how to make your very own tamagoyaki California roll!

This popular little dish was created by one adventurous and creative sushi chef, who sought his own creation of a non-traditional fusion cuisine, and the courage that he brought along made his fortune in a foreign land! This is sushi created outside Japan, and we hope to bring you along on this adventure with us. It may inspire you to create your own sushi rolls in future!

We would also like to present a sweet Japanese omelette, also known as dashimaki or tamagoyaki, a unique Japanese dish that is often found in bento boxes and a popular sushi topping! With of its layers, the tamagoyaki will fill you right up with its sweet and spongy flavour!

We hope to create a wonderful time with all our participants rolling sushi rice and grilling sweet tamagoyakis!

Date: Saturday, 24 April 2010
Time: 10.00am to 12.00pm; 1.00pm to 3.00pm
Venue: IT 5-6-15
Admission: $6 (members); $8 (non-members)

To register, please email Yvonne at cu@tpjcg.org with your full name, matric number, school, year of study, and contact number! Please check all details before sending!

Please note that registration and payment is to be done latest by Thursday, 22 April 2010. Don’t hesitate any longer, sign up with us right now! Places are limited, so do hurry!

SEAL points will be awarded for participation. We hope to see you soon!
