Gekiken Demostration

Hey folks!

Do you know what it is like to handle a samurai sword? Are you interested to know about Japanese samurai sword skills? Do you have what it takes to learn the art of gekiken?

If you do, then this is the right thing for you! Come on down and see the demonstration performed by coaches of the Sougo Buki Gekiken! They will also be giving a short history of the art.

Natsu Matsuri 2010

It’s Natsu Matsuri time again! This much-anticipated event organized annually by the Japanese Association, Singapore consists of food and game stalls and mass folk dancing of the Bon Odori at one of the biggest annual events held by the JAS.

Date: Saturday, 21 August 2010
Time: 6pm to 10pm
Venue: Japanese Primary School Changi Campus
Admission: $2 per person (payment for food, drinks, games and yukata rental will be in cash)

We’re taking orders for the tickets for a limited period only! Each JCG member is strictly entitled to purchase up to two tickets. If you are interested, please email us at comm@tpjcg.org (subject: Natsu Matsuri 2010 Tickets) with your full name (as in matric card), matric no and contact number by Friday, 6 August 2010. Former JCG members should include their forum username to verify their membership.

If you wish to purchase more than two tickets, they will also be available for sale at the venue itself.

Please note that payment for the tickets will have to be done during the week of 9 August 2010 during our weekly events. You will be informed of ticket collection at a later date.

Tickets are very limited, and available on a first come, first served basis, so email in today!

Karaoke Sessions (August)

皆さん、こんにちは!

Are you interested in singing? If you are, come on down and join us at our karaoke sessions. You can sing all the different kinds of songs you want ranging from enka to the latest hip-hop.

Day: Fridays (6th, 13th, 20th and 27th August)
Venue: LT15
Time: 6pm to 9pm

Origami Sessions (August)

Hi everyone,

Are you keen on learning how to fold different types of origami? If you are, then come on down and join us for our origami sessions, where we will teach you how to fold different types of origami like fishes and animals. It will be a great chance to get to know more new friends and have fun at the same time!

Day: Thursdays (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th August)
Time: 6pm to 7pm
Venue: IT5-6-14/15

Drawing Sessions (August)

Hi all,

Do you have an interest in drawing manga style? Well, come on down and join us for our drawing sessions, where members will be able to share tips and learn together. It will be a good chance for everyone to have fun, relax and learn!

Day: Mondays (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th June)
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Venue: IT 5-6-14

Admission to drawing sessions is free. If you’re feeling shy, feel free to ask a friend or two along too!
