Hi everyone!
We’ll be screening Studio Ghibli’s Tales of Earthsea this Saturday. Also known as Gedo Senki, this film is directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of acclaimed anime director Hayao Miyazaki.
Based on the unique series of books by Ursula Le Guin, Tales of Earthsea takes place in a fantasy world of dragons and wizards. A ship is tossed by a raging sea and two dragons appear from the storm clouds, only to devour each other. This is seen to be a terrible omen that the very balance of the world is collapsing and sets Sparrowhawk, a wizard, on his quest to find the source of the evil forces that are shaking the world.
