Ichibantei Ramen Restaurant Outing

Hi all!

We’re having an outing for all members to get together and enjoy special, unique or just delicious Japanese cuisine. Members can also make new friends and catch up with one another.

This month, we’re having ramen - soupy noodles with toppings such as sliced pork (chashu), bamboo shoots and spring onions. Ichibantei is a chain of ramen restaurants in Japan that has expanded into Singapore for quite some time already, bringing with them authentic ramen that is wildly popular with Japanese expats.

Date: Saturday, 12 July 2008

Venue: Ichibantei Robertson Quay (meeting at Somerset MRT control station)
Budget: $20 (most main courses)

MOF My Izakaya Restaurant Outing

Hi all!

We’re having an outing for all members to get together and enjoy special, unique or just delicious Japanese cuisine. Members can also make new friends and catch up with one another.

Izakayas in Japan are bars that also serve substantial amounts of food at affordable prices. Bringing the concept to Singapore, Ministry of Food - My Izakaya serves a wide range of authentic Japanese food and desserts, in a laid-back and friendly atmosphere.

Date: Saturday, 7 June 2008

Venue: MOF Bugis Junction (meeting at Bugis MRT control station)
Budget: $15 (most main courses); $25 (set meals)

Barbecue & Chalet Time!

We’ll be organising a chalet cum barbecue for all of you. Enjoy a night of intense gaming, movies, anime and Japanese dramas. There might even be a party of thrill-seekers visiting the darkest places around the area. This is your best chance to rest, relax and get to know each other better.

Here are the details of the barbecue:

Date: Wednesday, 26 September 2007
Time: 6pm till late
Venue: Aloha Loyang Sea View Garden Bungalow (159W Jalan Loyang Besar, Singapore 507020)
Cost: $12 for barbecue only; $16 if staying overnight

If you want to stay for more fun, some communal living experience, or are just too stoned to get home, the chalet lasts until Friday, 28 September 2007. That’s two whole days of gaming fun!

And if you think you have something to share, like a new game console or lots and lots of different party games, we’ll appreciate you offering your help!

Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Festival 2007

The 17th Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Festival, or Seiransai, is here!

Held annually, students participate by organising activities such as tea ceremonies, festival games and band performances. There’s even an opportunity for you to take your photo while dressed up in a Japanese high school uniform!

TPJCG has been invited for a preview of Seiransai on Saturday, 15 September 2007 from 1pm to 4pm. This is a special session for our members, with a guided tour and exclusive hospitality from the school. You can also communicate more with the Japanese students during this preview session.

Natsu Matsuri 2007

It’s Natsu Matsuri time again! This much-anticipated event organized annually by the Japanese Association, Singapore consists of food and game stalls and mass folk dancing of the Bon Odori at one of the biggest annual events held by the JAS. This year, the event will be once again held in the Changi campus.

Date: Saturday, 25 August 2007
Time: 6pm to 10pm
Venue: Japanese Primary School Changi Campus
Admission: $10 per person (comes with main dish and 12 coupons)

No SEAL points will be given for participation in this event.
