BANZAI!! 2008 - A Japanese Culture Bazaar

The biggest TPJCG event every year, we’re going to have our main membership intake in our very own bazaar: BANZAI!! If you haven’t signed up at our booth over the past two weeks, here’s yet another chance for you to do so!

You can also check out the cosplay by our Anime/Manga sub-committee, play some traditional games with our Arts and Entertainment sub-committee, or partake in our Cuisine sub-committee’s very own takoyaki and drinks. We’ll also be selling plenty of goods, anime merchandise and some origami and kirigami painstakingly folded by our very own members!

Date: Thursday, 8 May 2008 and Friday, 9 May 2008
Time: 12pm to 6pm
Venue: Outside LT 24 and 25 (Design school foyer, 1st floor, near the lift)

Existing members: Please bring your membership card and $5 for renewal.
New members: Please bring $10 for registration.

Recruitment Drive ‘08/09

It’s time for recruitment again!

We’re conducting a recruitment drive with a series of pre-registration events for people who can’t wait to jump into the fray and to keep the queues short. If you’re interested in registering, do check out our booth at the Concourse just outside Engineering School.

Please note that as 1 May is Labour Day and a public holiday, there would be no registration conducted on that day. And if you’re unable to make it on any of these days, we’ll be having our main membership intake during our annual BANZAI!! bazaar - coming soon!

Japanese Language Labs

Are you interested in learning more about the Japanese language without having to spend hundreds of dollars in a language school? Or are you just looking for people who you can practise and study the language with?

Come and join our very own Japanese Language Labs, where we conduct group study sessions and learn Japanese through a variety of activities.

Drop by for our lab demo session, where anyone who’s interested can have a feel of what the labs are like. There will also be a Q&A session if you have any further enquiries after participating in our demo.

Barbecue & Chalet Time!

We’ll be organising a chalet cum barbecue for all of you. Enjoy a night of intense gaming, movies, anime and Japanese dramas. There might even be a party of thrill-seekers visiting the darkest places around the area. This is your best chance to rest, relax and get to know each other better.

Here are the details of the barbecue:

Date: Wednesday, 26 September 2007
Time: 6pm till late
Venue: Aloha Loyang Sea View Garden Bungalow (159W Jalan Loyang Besar, Singapore 507020)
Cost: $12 for barbecue only; $16 if staying overnight

If you want to stay for more fun, some communal living experience, or are just too stoned to get home, the chalet lasts until Friday, 28 September 2007. That’s two whole days of gaming fun!

And if you think you have something to share, like a new game console or lots and lots of different party games, we’ll appreciate you offering your help!

Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Festival 2007

The 17th Waseda Shibuya Senior High School Festival, or Seiransai, is here!

Held annually, students participate by organising activities such as tea ceremonies, festival games and band performances. There’s even an opportunity for you to take your photo while dressed up in a Japanese high school uniform!

TPJCG has been invited for a preview of Seiransai on Saturday, 15 September 2007 from 1pm to 4pm. This is a special session for our members, with a guided tour and exclusive hospitality from the school. You can also communicate more with the Japanese students during this preview session.
