We will be introducing to you all Japan’s favourite dish, kare raisu. In our kare raisu making session, we will be teaching and guiding you on how to make your very own kare raisu!

In Japan, curry sauce mixes often come in the form of blocks, which makes making this dish easier and more convenient compared to other Japanese dishes.

Which is why we’re inviting you down to join us, so we can teach you how to make this simple dish in your very own kitchen! Fear not! The blocks of curry shall no longer puzzle you with their strangeness!

Do you have a yukata or want to try one out and learn how to wear one? You can come over to our yukata wearing session where you will learn the correct techniques of how to wear a yukata and tying an obi. There will be 2 sessions available, the morning and afternoon session. If you bring your own yukata to wear, admission will be free. You may also purchase the Yukata at $75 after the end of the afternoon session.

SEAL points will be awarded for participation. As places are limited, please register only if you are certain you can come. Members will be noted down if they register but do not turn up for the event. No SEAL points will be awarded and attendance will be taken into account when registering for future JCG events.

We’re having an outing for all members to get together and enjoy special, unique or just delicious Japanese cuisine. Members can also make new friends and catch up with one another.

This month, we’re having ramen – soupy noodles with toppings such as sliced pork (chashu), bamboo shoots and spring onions. Ichibantei is a chain of ramen restaurants in Japan that has expanded into Singapore for quite some time already, bringing with them authentic ramen that is wildly popular with Japanese expats.

We’re forming a J-pop/rock band and we’re looking for a drummer, a vocalist and a bassist. If you think you have the on-stage personality, singing ability, and love performing, we want you! Any experience with musical instruments will be a plus! You will get to perform during events such as Halloween, TP International Cultural Nite and more! Registered members will have to come for a short briefing on the audition by our former JCG band member Dominic Ho.

Come join us for a weiqi crash course session in collaboration with the TP Mind Sports Interest Group weiqi leaders, where they can teach you the basic fundamentals of igo using a weiqi board & game pieces. If you’re into anime like Hikaru no Go, you shouldn’t miss this event!
